A contribution to the book with a sociological research, which collects the personal experiences of females precious stones cutters, working in the Tamil Nadu laboratories. The study focuses on dalit women. The dalit (oppressors) lie at the end of the hierarchy, outside the four main castes. They are considered the untouchable to whom assign humble or ‘impure’ jobs.
